Damon Jones is alleged in a recently unsealed indictment to have shared private medical information connected to an unnamed NBA player as part of a larger "criminal betting operation," it has been revealed.

Former Cavaliers player and assistant coach Damon Jones allegedly received $2,500 for insider information that backfired during a 2024 Lakers game involving close friend LeBron James.

The Feb. 9, 2023, game between the Bucks and Lakers that was referenced in the indictment was one that LeBron James did not play in.

Jones was arrested on Thursday on two indictments alleging his involvement in illegal sports gambling and poker games.

"He’s a really funny dude. He’s a great storyteller. But he was never a part of the staff," a team source said of Jones.
