The live-action version of the 1937 animated classic has been the focus of controversy, as the film's Saturday premiere will not include journalists on the red carpet.

Disney is reportedly scaling back the premiere of its upcoming live-action remake of Snow White, following a number of controversies which have plagued the film over the past four years. Newsweek has reached out to Disney via email outside of regular working hours for comment.

As Disney looks to stage a diminished premiere for its latest live-action adaptation, it marks the end of a long and winding road of the studio's similarly long-and-winding lack of confidence in the film.
