As the government shut down continues and in the wake of the latest nationwide "No Kings Day" protest, President Donald Trump continues to be a polarizing president.
The White House has “indefinitely” paused the judicial nomination of former Florida Deputy Attorney General John Guard over a criminal probe. Guard, who was Donald Trump’s pick to fill a vacancy on the bench in the Middle District of Florida, has been subpoenaed in a criminal inquiry tied to a charity linked to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
It came as the nationwide protests drew hundreds of thousands to the streets in opposition to Trump on a number of policy issues.
D ONALD TRUMP rarely passes up an opportunity to praise Xi Jinping. Over the years, Mr Trump has regularly buttered up China’s leader, calling him “brilliant”, “perfect” and “fierce”, and averring that “there’s nobody in Hollywood like this guy.”
The top two Democratic leaders have requested a meeting with Trump after the last one went sideways. Some Republicans say it wouldn't hurt for him to engage more but doubt he will.
As the government shutdown enters its fourth week, Senate Republicans arrived at the White House Tuesday for a display of unity with President Donald Trump.
