FedEx Cup: Scottie Scheffler's huge lead in points negated under new Tour Championship format
Despite a substantial lead in points, Scottie Scheffler has no starting stroke advantage in the Tour Championship. The "Starting Strokes" format was eliminated mid-season, giving all 30 players a chance to win the FedEx Cup.
Fowler (T8) and Pendrith (T19) are the main two who can punch their tickets to the Tour Championship by making a move up the leaderboard on Sunday. A top-five finish would lock Fowler into a spot in Atlanta, while Pendrith needs to climb into the top 10.
McIlroy won two majors and a World Golf Championship in 2014 and didn’t win it. The three times he did win the FedEx Cup, McIlroy was never at the top of the points list throughout the entire postseason until he delivered the goods at East Lake.
