DAVOS, Switzerland, Jan 20 (Reuters) - European leaders, rattled by Donald Trump's latest global gambit, are looking to present a united front in Davos, as CEOs warned against an emotional response to the U.S. president's ambition to take over Greenland.

U.S. Secretary Treasury Scott Bessent on Wednesday decried Europe’s “anger” and “bitterness” over Trump’s tariff threat. Bessent urged the European Union to wait for Trump to arrive in Davos. He said he believes Europeans will be persuaded to support Trump’s concerns about Greenland once they hear his argument.

Trump makes first international trip of 2026 to Davos, where he's expected to deliver remarks focused on American dominance, including taking over Greenland.
