Pittsburgh Public Safety issued an update on Thursday morning, saying the incident involving a fan falling from the stands is being treated as an accident.

A fan is in critical condition after he fell from a 21-foot wall during the Pirates-Cubs game at PNC Park. The incident occurred Wednesday night after Andrew McCutchen’s hit in the seventh inning bounced through the left side of the Cubs infield and deflected into shallow right.

Pittsburgh Public Safety announced Thursday the incident that saw a fan fall from the right field bleachers onto the field of play during Wednesday's game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs at PNC Park "is being treated as accidental in nature."
