The US president ruled out Ukraine’s joining of NATO and reclaiming Crimea as part of any peace agreement with Russia just hours before he’s due to meet Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders for talks following his Alaskan summit with Putin on Friday.

A Russian air attack overnight on a residential area in Kharkiv killed three people, including a toddler, and injured 17, Ukrainian authorities said on Monday, as the United States presses Kyiv to take a quick deal to end a war Moscow started.

Ukrainian officials announced 13 people died and several more were injured in Russian attacks launched before world leaders meet at the White House on Monday.
