The government of Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has voted to dismiss Ronen Bar, the chief of Israel’s Shin Bet internal security service.

Israel's Supreme Court issued an injunction on Friday temporarily freezing the dismissal of the head of the domestic intelligence service as protestors returned to the streets for a fourth day. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced last week that he had lost confidence in Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar and intended to dismiss him.

The Supreme Court in Israel has suspended the government’s decision to dismiss the head of the Shin Bet, the country’s domestic intelligence service. A judge issued a temporary injunction on Friday, which, according to the court, will remain in place until a hearing on the matter is held. This is to take place by April 8 at the latest.
