KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Winter weather has arrived in East Tennessee, with photos capturing flurries of snow that is expected to mix with sleet and freezing rain later in the day. Storm Team 6 is tracking the winter storm as it moves across the region.
A multi-day winter storm is expected to bring snow, ice and freezing rain to Nashville and much of Tennessee. Follow along here for live updates.
Following the winter storm, temperatures in East Tennessee will remain freezing. A strong cold front will usher in arctic-like air into the region with wind chills dropping to 3 to 8 degrees above zero across much of the region, according to the National Weather Service's Jan. 24 report.
