BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT) — A Virginia opossum made her weather prediction at the Birmingham Zoo on Groundhog Day. The Birmingham Zoo announced Birmingham Jill found an early spring Sunday morning. The opossum made the forecast because the zoo decided not to wake up its groundhog called Birmingham Bill.

Seventy two Nigerian dwarf goats will be the 2025 Groundhog Day prognosticators at the Milwaukee County Zoo. Come Sunday morning, the goats will run out into the yard of their Northwestern Mutual Family Farm home and give Milwaukeeans a prediction for an early spring or six more weeks of winter.
