LOS ANGELES, Jan 28 (Reuters) - FedEx said on Wednesday it is working with Boeing and U.S. aircraft safety regulators to return to service by May 31 the MD-11 cargo planes it grounded after the deadly crash of one of those jets operated by United Parcel Service in November.
The UPS plane crashed in Louisville, Ky., in November shortly after takeoff, when the left engine flew off the wing. Fifteen people were killed.
A new report from the National Transportation Safety Board shows Boeing had previously reported problems similar to what UPS Flight 2976 experienced.
A loss of consortium lawsuit was filed Friday on behalf of the 15th victim of the UPS cargo plane crash in Louisville.
