- July 1, 2025 AUSTIN Texas Land Commissioner Dr. Dawn Buckingham announced July 1 the General Land Office’s (GLO) new book, Texas Takes Shape: A History in Maps from the General Land Office.

In 2015, the GLO collaborated with Austin’s Bullock Texas State History Museum and San Antonio’s Witte Museum to prepare a traveling exhibition featuring a sampling of those treasures.
