Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica around 1 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Oct. 28, according to the National Hurricane Center.
This rare late-season Category 5 major hurricane is set to make landfall on Jamaica before impacting Cuba and Haiti in the coming days.
SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba — Hurricane Melissa was grinding across Cuba on Wednesday as a Category 3 storm after pummeling Jamaica as one of the strongest Atlantic hurricanes on record, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.
Hurricane Melissa is slamming eastern Cuba on Wednesday morning, Oct. 29, after hammering Jamaica on Tuesday and causing widespread damage.
