Juan Soto got his desired No. 22 jersey with the New York Mets after his record $765 million contract this offseason.

After the New York Mets signed Juan Soto to the largest contract in MLB history, he made another deal with 25-year-old infielder Brett Baty. Soto has worn No. 22 during the entirety of his MLB career with the Yankees, Padres, and Nationals. But that number was already taken by Baty, who has played for the Mets since 2022.

Despite being only 26 years old, the New York Mets are the fourth MLB franchise that Juan Soto has played for. Soto spent the first five seasons of his MLB career with the Washington Nationals before he was traded to the San Diego Padres in August 2022.
