Milton, Mass.-based Labouré College of Healthcare narrowly avoided shutdown of its nursing program in July, and on Oct. 11 submitted a plan of correction to the state nursing board.

To help make up some of this shortage, Central Massachusetts colleges and universities are expanding their nursing programs to meet the growing need.

WCU School of Nursing’s LPN Advanced Placement program will be offered in a hybrid format beginning in fall 2023 with required pre-nursing courses taught in summer 2023.

Labouré College of Healthcare in Milton, Mass. is set to shut down its nursing program in December after a decision from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
