NFL free agency officially began with the new league year kicking off at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday. There were plenty of moves made during the legal tampering period on Monday and Tuesday, but those deals were basically handshake agreements.

Before the start of free agency, Chicago made two huge moves to improve the interior offensive line. The Bears traded for Los Angeles Rams guard Jonah Jackson (for a 2025 sixth-round pick) and Kansas City Chiefs guard Joe Thuney (for a 2026 fourth-round pick).

It would have been hard for the Chicago Bears to match the excitement of Monday’s moves, but the second day of free agency went out with a whimper as they made just one deal by re-signing long snapper Scott Daly.
