TORONTO – More than three decades after Joe Carter touched them all, George Springer gave the Toronto Blue Jays another home run for the ages, vaulting them into the World Series for the first time since they won their second consecutive championship in 1993.

Prime Minister Mark Carney says he’s “super pumped” about the Toronto Blue Jays’ dramatic comeback win over the Seattle Mariners that sent them back to the World Series.

Cal Raleigh’s leadoff home run tied Game 5 of the American League Championship Series in the bottom of the eighth, and three batters later, Eugenio Suárez unleashed an opposite-field grand slam that lifted the Mariners to a 6-2 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays at T-Mobile Park.

The Mariners' chase for a chance in the World Series is being celebrated by fans of all ages, including some young baseball fans.

If Shohei Ohtani and the Dodgers have their way, it’ll soon be replaced by the Commissioner’s Trophy, signifying a second straight World Series championship, a feat last accomplished by the New York Yankees 25 years ago. “I think everybody is locked and loaded and ready to see some history,” shortstop Mookie Betts said. “We’re ready to make it.”
