The Trump administration has been planning for weeks to send the National Guard to Chicago, two officials told CNN, as President Donald Trump looks to expand his anti-crime agenda and crackdown on immigration in major cities across the United States.

President Trump says Chicago will probably be the next target of his federal crackdown, which he says aims to fight crime, homelessness and illegal immigration.

Mayor Brandon Johnson told MSNBC on Sunday morning that "people will rise up against tyranny" if President Trump moves forward with his plan to send the national guard to police the streets of Chicago the way they're doing in Washington D.
