On Feb. 6, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that the Lakers had finalized a deal to send Knecht, Cam Reddish, a 2030 pick swap, and a 2031 unprotected first-round pick to the Hornets for Williams.

The Lakers already traded Dalton Knecht once. But that deal with the Hornets fell through after center Mark Williams failed his physical. (Why or how, we still really have no idea.) This has led some to believe that Knecht could be on the move again in the offseason.

Dalton Knecht has had a whirlwind of a rookie season with the Los Angeles Lakers. After getting drafted by them No. 17 overall this past summer, they agreed to trade the Tennessee alum to the Charlotte Hornets on Feb.
