Cy Young winner has struck out 17 batters in 9 1/3 innings and allowed just two runs in three Cactus League appearances with the Giants.

If not for blustery winds at Scottsdale Stadium, San Francisco Giants starter Robbie Ray had a chance to maintain a practically pristine spring.  It was Texas Rangers slugger Adolis Garcia who charged Ray with his first run of camp in four starts (his most recent start had been against minor leaguers at Papago Sports Complex).

The Giants moved Thursday’s first pitch up an hour to avoid the rain that was headed for the valley, but there was nothing that could be done about the wind. The flags were blowing straight out, which usually is a problem for pitchers.
