Alexis Lafreniere scored his first goal in 14 games when he gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead in the first period. Lafreniere took a drop pass from Panarin and fired it past Oettinger to end a lengthy drought at 6:56 of the first period.
The first 12 minutes of Tuesday night’s contest against the New York Rangers seemed like a typical 2024-25 road game for the Dallas Stars. Jake Oettinger couldn’t buy a save, and the Stars couldn’t buy a goal – status quo for a team that was 8-8-0 on the road this season.
With the Rangers leading 4-3 late in the third, K’Andre Miller seemed to be in control while with the puck in the defensive zone. A forechecking Sam Steel changed that. He charged at Miller, breaking up an attempted pass behind the net to seize possession. He fed Harley for the game-tying goal.
Harley seems to have found his groove offensively. He had a three point night against New York, including one goal and two assists. This comes right on the heels of his overtime winning goal in the previous game against Utah. He now has six points in his last four games.
NEW YORK -- Jamie Benn scored on a power play 2:17 into overtime and the Dallas Stars came back twice, including from down three goals, to defeat the New York Rangers 5-4 at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday. Benn scored from the front of the net off a pass from Jason Robertson.
Vincent Trocheck gave the Rangers a 4-3 lead with just over seven minutes remaining when he tipped in a Mika Zibanejad shot from in front of the net — occupying the power-play spot that usually belongs to an injured Chris Kreider — for his second goal of the game to snap a brutal 1-for-31 stretch from the unit.
Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin will start Thursday's game against the visiting Devils, coach Peter Laviolette announced.
Trae Young hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from beyond the halfcourt line to give the Atlanta Hawks a 124-121 victory over the Utah Jazz on Tuesday night. Young took an inbounds pass, dribbled to just short of halfcourt and hit the 49-foot winner as time expired while being loosely guarded by Collin Sexton,
BOSTON — Adam Henrique scored two goals and Connor McDavid scored on a power play midway through the second period as the Edmonton Oilers won their fourth straight game, 4-0 over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night.
Connor Hellebuyck made 26 saves to win his 300th career game as the Winnipeg Jets defeated the visiting Nashville Predators 5-2 on Tuesday.
