Tsyplakov's hit on Poehling from the Flyers’ 5-3 win Thursday over the Islanders was deemed illegal by the NHL Department of Player Safety.

The Philadelphia Flyers announced Monday that center Ryan Poehling has been added to the injured reserve with an upper-body injury. In a corresponding roster move, center Rodrigo Abols has been recalled from the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

Poehling missed Saturday's 3-1 win over New Jersey, and he won't be eligible to play against the Red Wings on Tuesday and the Rangers on Thursday after moving to the IR list. He has registered four goals,
