For Jets fans right now, the bull’s-eye is on owner Woody Johnson.

Robert Saleh may not have to wait long for his next head-coaching chance. Saleh has emerged as a legitimate candidate for the Jaguars after being fired by the Jets last season, The Athletic reported. The website noted that while it may feel out of “left field” there is some “real buzz” surrounding Saleh’s chances in Jacksonville.

The Dallas Cowboys have completed their interview with Robert Saleh but have yet to make a decision on their open head coaching position.

According to a report from Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic, “there’s some real buzz about” Saleh becoming the next head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars. The team fired Doug Pederson last week and will be on their fifth HC this decade:

New York needed a strong-willed coach who won’t be shaken on the big stage. With his run in Detroit and a connection to the Jets, he checked all the boxes.

Jets defensive line coach Aaron Whitecotton and cornerbacks coach Tony Oden are also both under consideration for roles on Glenn’s staff, according to sources.

Aaron Glenn has filled an NFL coaching vacancy at the New York Jets, joining Ben Johnson at the Chicago Bears and Mike Vrabel at the New England Patriots. The Dallas Cowboys are among four teams still searching.

The Jets have reportedly hired Glenn as their next head coach on Wednesday, replacing Robert Saleh (and interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich). The now-former Lions defensive coordinator has risen the ranks from scout to coordinator and now gets his first shot at head coaching.

Although Robert Saleh was fired midway through the season, the Jacksonville Jaguars see all the potential with the former head coach. While his head coaching tenure didn’t go as planned, he’s proven to be an effective leader and has his players’ best interest.
