WASHINGTON – After opening their back-to-back set with a 4-2 loss to the Utah Hockey Club at Little Caesars Arena on Thursday night, the Detroit Red Wings will look to quickly regroup and bounce back against the Eastern Conference-leading Washington Capitals at Capital One Arena on Friday night.
Larkin found the back of the net right out of the gate, as he gave the Red Wings a 1-0 lead just 43 seconds into the first period. The 28-year-old has 26 goals this season and has found the back of the net in back-to-back games, a feat he hadn't accomplished since doing so in a two-game stretch on Jan. 30 and Feb. 1.
Washington exploded for four goals early in the third period leading to a 5-2 victory over the Red Wings. The defeated extended the Wings' losing streak to five games.
