The Celtics looked like they were well on their way to a solid win over a shorthanded Clippers squad. Jaden Springer came off the bench and was the perfect spark plug as the C’s needed to protect a six-point lead in the final minute of regulation.

The Celtics outlasted the Los Angeles Clippers in overtime Wednesday night, winning 117-113 while a cavalcade of key players from both sides watched in street clothes. Boston blew a six-point lead late in regulation but scored nine of the first 11 points in overtime,

The Lakers are in fairly good health, and could sneak up on an unwary Boston still processing a near loss vs. the Clips.

The Celtics were a bit short themselves on the front end of the back-to-back with Jrue Holiday and Al Horford out injured and Kristaps Porzingis sidelined by illness. All three could be available for Thursday’s matchup on national TV.
