Donovan Mitchell is all set to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to their success. He is stepping in as a bigger presence in the Cavaliers' core.

Garland appeared in 75 regular-season contests with the Cavaliers, but was hit with the injury bug in the playoffs. The Vanderbilt product missed four of Cleveland’s nine postseason clashes with a toe injury and didn’t play particularly well in the five games he was active for.

The Cavs announced over the summer that Garland had successful surgery to repair his toe injury. He was given a 4-5 month timeline, expected to resume basketball activities by training camp – but to miss time at the start of the regular season. The start of November would mark roughly five months since Garland’s surgery.

In the recent matchup against the Pistons, Donovan Mitchell showed off his excellent on-court presence. He looked more energetic and focused.
