Top back D’Andre Swift has an undeniable competitive fire but is low-key by nature. Rookie Kyle Monangai is a head-down grinder, still working to get accustomed to the NFL. Roschon Johnson? He’s a third-year back, contributing predominantly on special teams and has never been overly boisterous.
With high-profiled players on every level of the defense, Allen has gotten his defense to play beyond expectations, even with plenty of room to grow, while also overcoming injuries to cornerbacks Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon, linebacker T.J. Edwards and defensive tackle Grady Jarrett.

'Four’s the magic number': How the Bears leaned into their identity as the NFL's turnover leader
As the Bears turn the page on New Orleans, they’re now finding out the expectations for their defense. Forcing turnovers is the Bears’ strength. Sunday was proof of it.
As the NFL trade deadline approaches, the Chicago Bears could use this former first-round edge rusher, who could bolster their pass rush for the playoff push.
The Bears scored touchdowns on 30.7% of their trips inside the opposing 20-yard line the past three weeks, which is the third-worst mark in the NFL during that span.
If Chicago feels they can roll with Benedet, or even second-round rookie selection Ozzy Trapilo, then Jones could be expendable to add more talent and depth on the defensive side of the ball. Especially if general manager Ryan Poles can get something for Jones, who's in the final year of his rookie deal.
It's an exciting time for the Bears and their snakebitten fanbase, and the hype around this team will go to the moon if they can win in Week 8 and push their win streak to five games, which would equal their longest streak since 2006. Yes, the same season that saw the Bears make a run to the Super Bowl.
