The Pro Football Hall of Fame has made it to the next round of votes while whittling down the list of senior candidates for possible 2026 induction from 52 to 34 candidates.

Virginia McCaskey owned the Chicago Bears for decades, and now she could be heading to Canton, Ohio. The late Bears owner is among 21 finalists still in the running for the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2026. The Hall will narrow down the list again next month.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame seniors category is down to 34 former players still in the mix for 2026 class, including Clay Matthews and Ken Anderson.

Brees, Rivers, Fitzgerald and Witten are among eight players in their first year of eligibility who are still in the running for inclusion in the 2026 class. Also in that group are running backs Frank Gore and LeSean McCoy, tight end Greg Olsen and center Maurkice Pouncey.

The 128 nominees for the Class of 2026, which included seven players with Alabama football roots, have been reduced to 52 contenders.
