JUNEAU, Alaska, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has revived a long-held state dream of building a road to the remote Bering Sea outpost of Nome, observers said.
Boomers talked for decades about building a road to Nome, an epic 500-mile plus project that would run through some of the most remote wilderness of forest, tundra, rivers and valleys in the world.
Workers with the state and Knik Construction hauled over 100,000 tons of material in order to make the Nome-Council road passable again before freeze-up.
