Two flights had to abort their landings at Reagan Washington National Airport on Thursday due to the close proximity of a U.S. military helicopter, prompting investigations by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.

The NTSB says a flight from Boston had to perform a go-around at Reagan National Airport in Virginia because of a nearby Blackhawk helicopter.

There were signs of trouble at a Judiciary meeting on Thursday as Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin, the top Democrat on the panel, said it was his understanding that committee chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, was going to announce “that we are not going to move forward on the Martin nomination.”
