The Summerlin South Little League team kept its winning streak alive and brought home the victory after scoring the game’s only run in the extra inning. On Monday, Aug. 17, Summerlin South defeated Irmo from South Carolina in the Little League World Series.

Irmo, coming off a heartbreaking loss to Las Vegas, shut out Honolulu, Hawaii, 3-0 in baseball at the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, Pa.

This is Summerlin South's first appearance in the LLWS. One other Las Vegas team, Mountain Ridge Little League, made it in 2014 as the West Region representative. The U.S. championship was retroactively rewarded to them after Jackie Robinson West (Chicago, Illinois) forfeited its wins due to the use of ineligible players.

The Summerlin South baseball team took home another win on Friday in the Little League World Series, defeating Washington in a 5 to 3 game.

Juan Reyes has thrown two complete-game shutouts for Venezuela. Garrett Gallegos has yet to let an opponent score when he’s on the mound for Nevada.

Summerlin South All-Stars capped off a pitching showdown with a win over South Carolina to advance in the Little League World Series on Monday.

Irmo took its first loss at the Little League World Series, falling 1-0 in seven innings to Las Vegas at Williamsport, Pa. Irmo plays Honolulu on Tuesday
