The Department of Defense is sending 1,115 additional service members as part of the mission to seal off the United States-Mexico border. That will bring the total number of troops at the border

The U.S. government has announced plans to deploy more than 1,000 troops to its shared border with Mexico, ostensibly to “provide enhanced sustainment, engineering, medical, and operational capabilities.”

The latest round of deployments will bring the total number of US troops at the southern border close to 10,000 – far higher than the 2,500 soldiers Biden had stationed there at the end of his term.
