Last winter in Cheyenne, Rep. Jeremy Haroldson told stories of seeing more mountain lions in the high country near his home: the Laramie Mountains.

Kellum said lions live in the open space habitat that surrounds the Bay Area, and that they sometimes wander into a new area to look for a new territory, food or water. “They often make their way back to where they came from,” Kellum said. “We think this one found its way back into the open space.”
