Go back a few years to when Derek Carr was released by the Las Vegas Raiders, it came down to the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints. The Jets told him he had the potential to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer if he came to New York.

Carr has the misfortune of being on a Saints team with the worst cap situation in the entire NFL, so cuts have to be made by the organization. With an aging roster, an underwhelming haul of draft picks, and no money to spend in free agency, New Orleans is in desperate need of a teardown and rebuild.
