According to reports from NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic, Sarkisian is "interested" in potential head coach openings in the NFL. Sarkisian is in his fifth season at Texas, bringing the program back to national relevance while posting a 42-19 record and securing two College Football Playoff Semifinal appearances.

Steve Sarkisian led Texas to back-to-back College Football Playoff semifinal appearances in 2023 and 2024. But recent success might not be enough to keep the Longhorns coach in Austin.

Despite the criticism Manning has faced in his first year as starting quarterback, Sarkisian has continued to back his young quarterback, stating back in September that Manning’s struggles are “mental" (via Cedrick Golden of Austin American-Statesman ).
