The U.S. government has taken a 10% stake in struggling U.S. chipmaker Intel, President Donald Trump announced in a social media post.

The United States government will own a 10% share of common stock in U.S. chipmaker Intel in exchange for $11 billion in already-promised federal funding.

The deal is among the largest government interventions in a U.S. company since the rescue of the auto industry after the 2008 financial crisis.
