A Virginia woman scored $100,000 from a Powerball drawing about two years after she collected $399,392 from an online lottery game.

A Virginia woman scored a big prize playing Powerball, but it wasn’t her first time to strike it lucky with lottery games, officials said. Jennifer Helfman, from Alexandria, won $100,000 in the Dec. 7 Powerball drawing, about two years after winning $399,392 in an online lottery game, the Virginia Lottery said in a Jan. 21 news release.

Manoj Chhetry, from Woodbridge, won a jackpot prize worth $4,303,499 in the Dec. 22 drawing for the Merry Money Mania game, the Virginia Lottery said in a Jan. 22 news release. Chhetry told lottery officials he thought it was a scam at first and had to call his wife to help him verify that he really had won. “I didn’t know what happened!” he said.

A Virginia man won a life-changing jackpot prize while playing online lottery games after work, lottery officials said. Keith Girard, who works in finance, had just gotten home when he won about $1.5 million playing the Marvelous Money: Paradise Payout game, the Virginia Lottery said in a Jan. 17 news release.
