Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and City Council members will be sworn in to office Monday, marking the start of a new four-year term for the city’s leadership. Today’s ceremony starts at 1 p.m., at the Georgia State University Convocation Center. It will be followed by a reception at City Hall from 4-6 p.m. Both are open to the public.

Mamdani tried to send a message of inclusiveness with the Jewish community but an attendee held up a photo criticizing Israel.

"I would like to be there to show the smooth, peaceful transition of power. We both know how important that is," the outgoing mayor said.

The Grammy-winning singer, part of the supergroup boygenius, followed a performance by Mandy Patinkin, who sang “Over the Rainbow.”
