Rookie F1 driver Isack Hadjar went fastest in qualifying for this weekend's Mexican Grand Prix, prompting embarrassment for reigning champion Max Verstappen . The main team appeared to struggle out on track during the early stages of qualifying in Mexico City, with Verstappen finishing Q1 down in ninth and team-mate Yuki Tsunoda in 13th.
Lando Norris put his McLaren on pole position for the Mexico City Grand Prix on Saturday with Formula One championship-leading teammate Oscar Piastri set to start seventh.
