Scientists say Mount Spurr — about 80 miles from Anchorage — is becoming more seismically active, spewing large amounts of dangerous gasses and heating up at its surface.
The eruption lasted 29 hours between 9:26 a.m. Hawaiian time Wednesday through 1:49 p.m. Thursday, according to the U.S.
Authorities said as they raised the alert status to the highest level, and an Australian airline cancelled some flights into Bali on Friday.
