Michael Vaughan and fans were left stunned as the turnout for the first match of the Champions Trophy 2025 between Pakistan and New Zealand was poor. Empty seats have been visible during the match.

This is the first major ICC tournament that Pakistan are hosting since the 1996 World Cup. Surprisingly, there was lack of crowd at the National Stadium in Karachi even though the hosts were playing. About half of the stadium looked empty during New Zealand’s innings with vast spaces of unacquired seats visible.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) did a lot of hard work to ensure that the stadiums were ready on time but the efforts seem to be in vain as there were very less fans.
