CINCINNATI — The Bengals traded for Joe Flacco with hopes of saving their season. Sending a 2025 fifth-round pick to the Browns in exchange for the veteran quarterback and a 2026 sixth-round pick was a no-brainer for Cincinnati.
Per SF Gate, a banner with the words "Joe Calm to the Rescue" was spotted hanging in Paycor Stadium during the Bengals-Steelers "Thursday Night Football" matchup. The banner was designed by Jeff Wagner, a Bengals fan who has been making and hanging 40-inch banners at every home game since 2000, per his Twitter.
"Anquan Boldin," Flacco said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals .com. "Hands-wise, when he had people on him, you could throw the ball around him and knew that he was going to go fight for the football and be able to catch it with his hands."
Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco joked that he no longer feels sorry for the guy he sees sitting by himself and eating a meal.
