Beyoncé's "Cowboy Carter" won the top prize at the 2025 Grammys on Sunday for the first time in her career. She previously lost the award four times.

"I think genre is a code word to keep us in our place as artists," she said in her speech. "I just want to encourage people to do what they're passionate about."

Beyoncé has won her first album of the year Grammy for “Cowboy Carter,” a long-sought win for the record-breaking megastar after her four previous unsuccessful bids for the top prize. “I just feel very full and very honored,” Beyoncé said while accepting the award. “It’s been many, many years.”
