The 1 p.m. Friday, July 4, 2025, tropics advisory from the National Hurricane Center in Miami shows a tropical system with formation possible over the next 48 hours or within seven days at 70 percent.

Impact weather is expected from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with heavy rain during the 4th of July holiday. Showers will quickly develop in the afternoon leading to scattered storms this evening. The impact weather continues for Saturday as we will have more rain and storms at the start of the weekend.

The chance of a tropical system developing on July 4th continue to increase, but there's a silver lining. The tropical system has a 60% chance for development over the next seven days and a 20% chance over the next 48 hours.
