Immigration agents reportedly detained a 6-year-old girl, her teenage brother and her mother at a Manhattan immigration court last week. The family, originally from Ecuador, had appeared for a routine check-in at 26 Federal Plaza when Immigration and Customs Enforcement ( ICE) agents took them into custody on August 12, according to CBS News.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams broke with President Trump this week as he backed the city's lawsuit to immediately halt ICE arrests at immigration courthouses.
ICE officials have said a new rule requires a seven-day waiting period for inspections. DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin told the Associated Press that “members of Congress could have just scheduled a tour; instead, they’re running to court to drive clicks and fundraising emails.”
