After Gauff, Taylor Fritz beat Hubert Hurkacz and the United States won their second United Cup title. Meanwhile, the 2023 US Open champion will now turn her focus to the Australian Open, where she will be among the top favorites for the title.

Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff meet for a 14th time on the WTA Tour and it is Swiatek who leads the head-to-head 11-2. It was Gauff who won the last meeting however at the WTA Finals in Saudi Arabia at the end of 2024 but it is hard to pay too much attention to that one given the fact Swiatek had not played since the US Open and clearly was not hugely motivated to play that tournament.

Australian Open title favourites Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff are set to meet in the semi-finals of the women’s singles draw for the second straight year. Sabalenka beat Gauff in the last four on her way to the title 12 months ago,
