A Kansas City, Missouri, firefighter has died after a patient he was taking to a hospital in an ambulance stabbed him. The incident happened at about 1 a.m. Sunday when crews were dispatched to a “routine medical call," after a woman was seen walking along the westbound lanes of 152 Highway.

A Missouri paramedic was killed Sunday when he was stabbed in the chest by a patient in his ambulance. Graham Hoffman, 29, transporting a patient following a routine medical call from police when he was attacked, Kansas City officials said. Numerous callers reported a woman walking along the shoulder of a highway around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday.
