Before then, a lucky lottery ticket holder in Illinois took home a $344 million jackpot on March 25, while another lucky person hit the Mega Millions jackpot on Jan. 17.

A Mega Millions player in Washington just missed the $50 million jackpot but won $2 million, lottery officials said. The ticket matched five winning numbers but not the Mega Ball in the drawing Tuesday, April 22, Washington’s Lottery said.
