Mar 18, 2014 · I was diagnosed with AMAN type GBS in July 2013 while backpacking in South East Asia (Thailand to be exact). My first symptoms were extreme abdominal pain followed by foot pain. Over the course of 2 weeks this progressed to complete paralysis from the waist down, arms, hands and abdominal muscles.

Jan 2, 2017 · I have had GBS 4 times (once in 1948, doctor didn’t know what it was, I was walking funny); (once in 1958 after a virus, had just PT); (once in 1989, after a virus and stressful job situation – 14 months to recover); and (once in 2002, after a virus and stressful time in my life).

Dec 28, 2017 · Everyday is a different day. Some better than others. My husband was 48 when he contracted GBS. We had just moved on to 5 acres of land. For 20 years he has been working around here, not accomplishing alot at times but our husbands needs projects to keep them out of depression. Life is good, even though GBS is always close by we feel lucky.

Dec 18, 2017 · I had GBS in 2008. I wish I could remember dates and details but I am having issues with my memory. I am 48 years old and since my bout with GBS I have to admit my health is declining somewhat. GBS left me with nerve damage from head to foot and no reflexes. I have severe migraines now. I have stomach issues now.

Aug 7, 2010 · Sudden, dramatic, weight loss is a common symptom of GBS. I lost about 25 lbs during onset, all within a few weeks. My muscles literally wasted away as the muscle cramps of onset took over. I also had nausea, and trouble chewing and swallowing, so ate even less because I’d bite my tongue, or food would dribble out of my mouth.
