Jul 3, 2006 · The theory is the bacon grease odor attracks the coyote who then eats/swallows the sponge. The sponge is small enough to be swallowed whole which passes thru the large intestine but will not pass into the small intestine.

Oct 13, 2020 · A little back story; I started coyote trapping with a kit that included a small can of bait. I had very little success early on, but started catching after switching to tainted home brew venison and barn cat. That worked well from January through late spring. After it got hot I only saw them hit big bait like road kill rabbits and whole chickens.

Sep 30, 2008 · Coyotes and coyote sign will come and go on a property. They seem to have very large home ranges. On my property, I may not see a track for months, then it's like coyote central (which it is now). My theory is right now coyotes are grouping up and going through a "coyote rut", so if you got them, you really got them.

Sep 19, 2005 · The method discussed was hanging a sturdy treble hook via steel cable leader about 4 feet above the ground from a stout overhanging tree limb near a known coyote run and baiting the hook with meat. It was said the coyote would be hanging there when you return the next morning. I have also heard of using snares, calling, and poison.

When I got to where he fell about 30 yards from where I shot him, I seen by the leaf pattern on the ground that he was thrashing around pretty good before he expired.
